PATSY GRIND: Call It Love

If you like eighties-sounding hopping girl rock with a twist, Patsy Grind will hit close to home. a lot Blondie but enough of a hint of Edie Brickell, to keep it soulful.

Kate Russell

Charismatic Australian-Bred Country Singer-songwriter keeps the 'Powerful Stuff' coming with "The Man He Could Be," the debut single from her upcoming album, "Kicking Down the Door."

Russell draws upon a unique array of influences in creating her distinctive musical sound. She uses the phrase “Keith Urban meets Bonnie Raitt” to best describe her blend of Aussie style, soulful vocals, insightful and emotional songwriting and accomplished musicianship. Yet her remarkable lower register vocal timbre has the unmistakable stamp of an even earlier inspiration, Karen Carpenter. Her engineer Mike Bradley once dubbed her “the Alanis Morissette of country music.”

“I’ve loved traveling to all these new places and meeting and playing for so many different people this past year,” she says. “I like to think of Kicking Down The Door as my way of working out some personal relationship problems and dealing with a lot of different issues, and I think these songs will connect really well with fans of both country and adult contemporary music. I’m excited about keeping everything going strong and taking my career to the next level.”

The Rising Creed

I see the connectedness of it all.
I gain new understanding to what it is we are.
I devote my life to reclaiming that which we are.
I use my senses to re-establish all that has been lost to divide us from our selves.
I will reclaim what is human, what is humanity.
I will find what is lost.
Given time and meaning, I will promote happiness and worth.
I will rise up to see the wonder and glory in being a new person.
I will no longer hide within the restraints that have been placed on me.
I will forge ahead in beauty and wisdom for all to see.
I will shine in honor of all those that are in me.
For now I have the freedom to gain all that is in me.
To know all that is.
To be of value and placement.
I have come here to do my work.
