Journal writing is the perfect
accompaniment to yoga because in practice and throughout the day,
much will come in the form of philosophic and inspirational thought.
It is these thoughts that will propel the movement through the mind
into the outer realms. Journey to the center of your own
sphere and bring forth the goodness that lies deep within.
Quieting the mind with yoga will open the mind to inner guidance,
allowing the flow to reach the conscious, transcending into
understanding and growth.
Expression through the written word
brings focus to thoughts, helps to organize and understand.
Initially, just get the thoughts down on paper (or computer) whether
they make sense or not. With contemplation and organization,
revelations may appear.
Additionally, journal writing is
important for your yoga practice because it will give you a log of
your progress. You will be able to refer back to see how far
you have come. You can record difficult poses and areas that
need improvement.
